Book Arts Editions / Marilyn Stablein
Book Arts Editions publishes poetry, traveler's tales, artist books and eco-friendly prints & collectibles by Marilyn Stablein who has collaborated with international publishers & illustrators including Dmitry Sayenko (born in Ukraine). Three of her collage artist books are published in Ireland by Red Fox Press. An award winning writer and artist, she exhibits internationally and her work is included in private and public collections.
A dozen of Stablein’s artist books will be available, including books published in Nepal, Ireland, and Portland.

First Matter Press is a non-profit press in Portland, Oregon founded in 2018 to dissolve publication barriers for first-time poets and genre-breaking writers. They amplify local voices while empowering authorial ownership. With 27 titles available or in production, the annual releases center community and craft by inviting authors into a creative cohort where they crystallize manuscripts in dialogue with editors and fellow writers and collaborate with featured artists on original cover art. Lindsey Denae Perez is a two-spirit Tongva illustrative artist who encourages self-decolonization through visual storytelling, giving voice to gender-nonconforming experiences, cultural reclamation, and spiritual awakening in their collection of handmade, self-published comic zines. Lindsey graduated from the 2024 Comics Portfolio program at the I.P.R.C. located in Portland, OR and they frequently participate in pop up markets across the west coast.

liz yerby
liz yerby makes nonfiction comics. They have a comic about queer people in history who kept exotic cats (and also their own experience of being too close to tigers). They also make collaborative anthologies which are biographies, which include a lot of artists, including many local artists. liz yerby also makes diary comics and small art pieces/stickers.
At PIBAF, liz yerby will be selling a variety of comics, including Big Cats, Dolly Pardon, Klaus Nomi, Sir is this love, What Marcie worries about, and The New Yerby 2025. They will also have a small selection of prints and stickers, and a free newsletter.

pocket press is made up of a couple of pals who like to make artist books and zines ! Working out of one of a members’ living room (the ideal place for a risograph duplicator), they love to learn through making and have a special love for riso and letterpress printing. Their books and zines are made sometimes together, sometimes separately, and through them, pocket press explores daily narratives and use publication as a practice to contain things we might not understand.

Rogue Writers Guild
Rogue Writers Guild was born, nestled in the woods, somewhere in Southern Oregon. Rogue Writers became active in Portland in 2023 when one of the founding members moved up to the city. Alliances formed during the Great North American Cannabis Rush. Their crew spans multiple philosophies, nationalities, languages, and locations. Rogue Writers’ goal is to foster a global network of counterculture creatives and launch a DIY publishing house. For now, expect zines, eccentricity, and custom typewriter poetry.
